Genre Review
Watch the video below for a review of the different genres, both fiction and nonfiction.
Genre Digital Breakout
Now that you have reviewed all of the genres, click on the link below to begin the digital breakout. You will need to answer several questions in order to help Penny get her ring back from the dragon.
- Once you begin you will need to click on the link to get the code and then return to the Google form.
- When the link opens you will drag the genres from the bottom to watch the description in the chart.
- Once you think you have all 6 genres in the correct place click the blue "check" button
- If you have them all in the correct place look at the highlighted letter from each of the 6 genres to get the code word.
- Enter the code in the space provided (the page you started from). Make sure it is in all capital letters.
- Answer the 5 multiple choice questions to help the teacher give book suggestions for the students
- Use the code to find the correct genre and enter it in the space provided (make sure to type all capital letters).
- Look at the book covers to determine the genre. It is one of the genres listed after the directions (make sure to use all capitals).
- Complete the bonus-this is optional
- Share with your media specialist that you completed the breakout.
Optional Activity- Genre Reading Challenge
Now that you have reviewed genres in the video and completed the Genre Digital Breakout, challenge yourself to read books from a variety of genres. Print the challenge document below. Color in a book next to each genre when you complete a book from that genre. Record the book information on the chart. Share your completed challenge form with your media specialist when you finish.
